Breast cancer is one of the leading causes of cancer death in women. Studies consistently show that breast density is one of the strongest predictors of risk for breast cancer. To address this serious health problem, the Breast Density and Mammography Reporting Act of 2011 (H.R. 3102) will ensure that all women receive information about her breast density on her federally required mammography report and notify her that she may benefit from supplemental screening tests based on her measurement of breast density.
