Upcoming PBS documentary to feature Byllye Avery of Provincetown
"Makers: Women Who Make America" to air on February 26
Byllye Avery of Provincetown, will be featured in a documentary airing on PBS at the end of the month.
"Makers: Women Who Make America" is the story of the women at the forefront of the women's movement--both the leaders and opponents. According to Makers, the film's creator, the three-hour documentary offers intimate portrayals of the women who fought in the trenches--the famous, the infamous and everyone in between.
Among the stories of Gloria Steinem, Phyllis Schlafly, Oprah Winfrey and Hillary Clinton, are the personal perspectives of many others including Byllye Avery.
Ms. Avery is the founder of The Avery Institute for Social Change and the Black Women's Health Imperative. She has been a health care activist for over 30 years and is currently on the Board of Directors at Outer Cape Health Services.
