The Black Women's Health Imperative's Physician Locator Service was created to respond to the growing number of requests from health-wise, African American women like you who are actively looking for African American doctors to serve their personal health care needs and those of their families.

We have developed this growing database of African American physicians to make the process of locating a physician in your area easier. And, unlike similar services, there is no cost to either the physician or you. It's just another great benefit of membership in the Black Women's Health Imperative (free trial for all until January 2009)!

The Imperative's Physician Locator Service is not intended to match patients with specific doctors. Instead, just like a good referral from a friend you trust, it is designed to assist you in identifying a doctor in your local area whom you can meet, interview and decide if he/she is the right doctor for your specific health care needs. We know that this is a personal decision you'll have to make for yourself as a savvy health care consumer.

However, when you use this service you'll have peace of mind, knowing that all physician credential data have been verified for accuracy and authenticated by accrediting agencies, licensing boards and other reliable data sources. So, we invite you to search for a physician by name, city and state, ZIP code or medical specialty. And, if you find a great doctor, please let us know and share the information with your friends and family, too.
